  20. NComm or JRComm, which are old but will work fine. There is also term,
  21. Terminus, and a number of other newer packages, but none of those will run on
  22. OS 1.3.

  27. Not without upgrading to a newer version of the OS (at least 2.x), multiplying
  28. the amount of memory you have by a factor of ten, and buying a much faster
  29. processor. Also, X is no fun under ECS.

  31. To put things in perspective, I tried running AmiWin on my A500+ / 2M Chip /
  32. 5M Fast / 40MHz 030/882 / ECS and it was too painful to be really useful, even
  33. using simple local clients such as XClock and XCalc. A good minimum
  34. configuration would probably be 25MHz+ 68040, 10 Megs of memory, and a
  35. graphics cards or at least AGA - way beyond what is sensibly possible on an
  36. A500.

  40. There is PCTask, which is commercial. The demo version has no hard disk
  41. support, and I'm not even sure if it will run under 1.3, and memory and CPU
  42. power will certainly be a problem, yet again.
